Sherry is a self-taught landscape artist. Born and raised in Brinston, Ontario, Sherry grew up on her family’s dairy farm where nature was ever present in her life. After becoming profoundly deaf in her mid-thirties, Sherry developed a deeper love for the visual beauty of the natural landscape. As a way to re-experience her surroundings, Sherry portrays nature as she feels it. Encouraged by her family and stemming from her farming roots, Sherry entered two of her best works (“Days Gone By” and “Evening Rapture”) into four local agricultural fairs. She won 1st place at all four (South Mountain, Richmond, Carp and Metcalfe), including best-in-show at the Metcalfe Fair.
